Student Support & Special Programs

Marble Charter School provides a continuum of student support services in accordance with Colorado Department of Education guidelines and under the guidance of the Gunnison Watershed School District to ensure equitable access to learning for all students. We offer special education services for students with disabilities as defined under state and federal law, with individualized education programs (IEPs) designed to support academic and developmental needs. We provide Section 504 accommodations to eligible students who need supports to access the general education curriculum. We also serve multi-lingual learners through programming that meets their academic and language acquisition needs.

In addition, MCS connects qualifying students and families with supports under the McKinney‑Vento Homeless Education program, which helps remove barriers to school enrollment, attendance, and success for students experiencing housing instability. We also offer gifted and talented services for students who demonstrate advanced learning needs, following state definitions and planning frameworks for accelerated and enriched instruction.

Because we are a small school community that knows our students well, we are able to coordinate these services with individualized attention and collaborate closely with families, educators, and support staff to help each student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
