Key Benefits of the MCS Summer Program:
- Outdoor Exploration: Spending time outdoors allows kids to connect with nature, develop an appreciation for the environment, and enhance their observational skills.
- Social Interaction: Students have the opportunity to make new friends and build social skills in a fun and supportive environment.
- Academic Enrichment: The program includes educational components that reinforce learning, helping students retain knowledge and skills over the summer months.
- Skill Development: Through hands-on activities like marble carving, cooking, and baking, students can develop new talents and interests.
- Field Trips: Excursions to local attractions provide real-world learning experiences, exposing students to new ideas and engaging with their community.
- Structured Environment: The program provides a safe and structured atmosphere, allowing students to thrive while engaging in supervised activities.
We strive to maximize outdoor time, taking advantage of the stunning landscapes of Marble and the Roaring Fork Valley. Most days will be spent in Marble, with 1-2 days dedicated to planned activities in the neighboring towns of Carbondale, Aspen, and Glenwood Springs.
Each day is carefully planned to ensure safety, engagement, and educational value. Participants will have the opportunity to explore new environments, learn about their community, and create lasting memories.
Transportation: Bus service is provided for pick-up and drop-off! The bus route extends to the Carbondale area each day.
Eligibility: The minimum age for our program is 4 years old. Participants are not required to be MCS students and are warmly welcomed! We average 15-20 kids per day with ages ranging from 4 years to 12 years old.
